Radon Testing
A radon test during your inspection, so you know the level in the home before you buy.

Radon is a radioactive gas that comes from the ground. You cannot see or smell it, and the only way to know the level inside a home is to test. The US Environmental Protection Agency recommends fixing a home when radon is at or above 4 picocuries per litre (pCi/L).
We set up the radon test when we inspect the home and collect it when the test period ends. If the result is high, a radon mitigation system can usually bring it down, and it is a common item to negotiate before closing.
What it covers
- Test placed in the lowest lived-in level of the home
- Test period under closed-house conditions
- Written results with the measured radon level
Who it is for
- Buyers who want to know before closing
- Owners who have never tested their home
When to book
A short-term radon test generally runs at least 48 hours, so book it with your inspection to keep results inside your due diligence period.

Every radon testing is led by Andrew McLester, a licensed North Carolina home inspector and military veteran, backed by a team with contractor, realtor and drone pilot licences. We serve Pinehurst, Southern Pines, Whispering Pines and Moore, Richmond, Cumberland, Hoke and Scotland counties.
